Google Chat adds persistent, cross-device message drafts

Google said unsent messages in Google Chat are now saved automatically so users can finish and send them later, including after closing Chat or restarting a device [1]. The drafts sync across devices, so a message begun on a desktop can be completed on a tablet or phone, and pending drafts appear in the conversation compose box and the drafts shortcut [1]. The update was announced alongside other Workspace changes the same day, including a new 1Password SaaS Manager integration for Chat that routes access provisioning notifications, actions and approvals into Chat messages [3].
